OH GOD, WILFORD BRIMLEY, DIES AT NETFLIX

by Bibly O. Theque

In tragic news to hit the entertainment industry, lauded actor, Wilford Brimley passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020, sadly, after talks of him starring in a Netflix rebooted series of the OH, GOD franchise, previously extolled by late actor George Burns, were concluded and he was released from his contract, as the series was deemed as dead, due to global circumstances that made it impossible for Netflix to move forward with the project, and reconsidering the age of the actor they had excitedly cast in the role.

A spokesperson for the streaming service relayed the melancholy news, "We are sad to hear of Mr. Brimley's passing. His presence in the entertainment industry was The Firm foundation that many actors regarded as a fine example of acting expertise. He was The Natural first choice for the role of 'God' in our planned reboot, and his acceptance of the role was truly Heaven Sent. He was the Electric Horsemen that helped to spirit the project, but with the current climate in the world, in the aftermath of The China Syndrome that has affected all people on a global scale, it was with Absence of Malice that the studio concluded that the project needed to be Cocoon'd for later consideration. Mr. Brimley definitely brought Tender Mercies to the screen with True Grit, and his role in this enterprise would have been the End of the Line to a long and illustrious career for him. Our hearts go out to his family and fans."

With a career that spanned from 1969-2017, this last project with Netflix was expected to be his final pièce de résistance to a métier that brought many fans to the cinema over nearly 50 years of film and television. Wilford will be woefully missed.

GUMBY GONE

by Art Iste

Too Soon. Reginald B. Gumm, aka Gumby, was sadly pronounced dead late July 5th, 2020, after being missing from the limelight for nearly 25 years, and laid to rest the following Sunday evening in the midst of friends who honored him by burying him in green clay. After years of battling deforming cancer, Gumby finally succumbed to his illness and called it quits, wishing a fond farewell to his friends and fans.

"If I am to be remembered, remember me as a joyful soul, always as green as the earth, and as full of life. From whence I came, so now shall I return." His final words are chilling and telling of the fate which laid ahead of him. Although mostly laid to rest in an undisclosed memorial cemetery, parts of him will be scattered among children's playgrounds, in the bouncy asphalt that they play upon, so that he may forever partake in their joy and festivities, as if he never left this mortal coil, but will forever be part of the happy adventures children share in for as long as those parks remain.
